In Japan, there are many changes in the expressions of nature as the seasons pass, and Grand Seiko seeks to capture the essence of these changes through evocative dials it makes in-house. Brought to life through masterful craftsmanship, the dial of this model captures the delicate patterns that emerge on snow surfaces swept by the wind in winter in the Hotaka Mountains. It evokes a serene scene where the colour of a clear sky seems to melt into the landscape.
The light blue dial is housed in a gentle, classically shaped case, beautifully complemented by a navy-coloured crocodile strap.
The watch is powered by Calibre 9R65, a Spring Drive movement with a maximum power reserve of 72 hours (3 days).

Visible from the Shinshu Watch Studio, where Spring Drive watches are made, the Hotaka mountain range is blanketed with snow for several months each winter. The snow in these mountains is shaped by fierce winds that carve patterns into its surface, a phenomenon that forms the basis of this watch’s “Snowflake” pattern dial. The light blue colour, which inspired the “Skyflake” moniker, evokes the wind-swept snow reflecting the bright blue sky above on a clear winter’s day. The tempered blue seconds hand glides smoothly across the dial, reflecting the silent passage of time.
The case design, which carries the spirit of the first Grand Seiko, features a softly rounded form that exudes warmth from every angle.
Though the lugs may appear simple at first glance, they are crafted with sloping surfaces that widen toward the tips.
These surfaces, finished with distortion-free mirror surfaces through Zaratsu polishing, highlight the delicate ridgelines.
The brilliant glow of the case, born from expert craftsmanship, adds a subtle tension to its classical elegance, resulting in a refined and dignified impression.
