Understatement as artistry
Calibre 9S63 is a significant addition to the ever growing Grand Seiko family of movements. It has been eight years since the last manual-winding mechanical calibre in Grand Seiko and it has been worth the wait. Calibre 9S63 offers a small seconds hand at the nine o’clock position and a power reserve indicator at three o’clock. Calibre 9S63 has a power reserve of 72 hours and delivers an accuracy rate of +5 to -3 seconds a day.
A classic combination of a clean white dial and black crocodile strap create a perfect harmony. A curved dial with the hand-bent minute and power reserve hand gives the watch a classic look.

The slim profile of the case is made possible by tailoring the engineering to the design. The movement is wound by hand and so can be thinner. The small seconds hand at the nine o’clock position uses less height than a center seconds hand would need. The dial slopes away at the edge to accentuate the slimness of the case, which is curved to sit close to the wrist. Occasionally, less really is more.
Calibre 9S63 is the first ever Grand Seiko movement equipped with a small seconds hand. It is located at the nine o’clock position, opposite the indicator on which you can see the power reserve increase as you turn the crown. Calibre 9S63 offers a power reserve of 72 hours and a precision rate of +5 to -3 seconds per day. The movement is hand assembled and adjusted by the master craftsmen and women of the new Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi.
One of the world's foremost mechanical movements, the culmination of high-precision micro-engineering and the attention to detail of Seiko's expert watchmakers.
Spring Drive is a unique movement that delivers one-second-a-day precision, using just the power of a mainspring.
